Gluten-Free Treats: Alternative Baking Company - The Best Gluten Free Cookies You Need to Try [My Review]

Image
I may not embrace my inner cookie monster too often, but it's definitely inside of me. Since going gluten free, I haven't really had the chance to explore my options for gluten-free treats, but there are some tasty options out there. The one I had the chance to try most recently were cookies from Alternative Baking Company. They offer up vegan (non-gluten free cookies, but they also offer gluten-free options for those of us with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten! Their company makes vegan cookies and they make them in a way that they taste like traditional cookies. Don't you love that? It's a healthier option that is much better for you than most processed foods. Make sure you read more about their company on their website . I had the chance to try a variety of flavors from the Alternative Baking Company and I loved ALL of them. Let me just say after you finish each cookie it's like they leave good memories in your mouth. My family and I tried out

Make Your Own Gluten Free Pizza with Rudi's Pizza Crusts [Review and Giveaway]

Image
I had the chance to review some items by Rudi's, a very popular gluten-free brand that has some pretty good options out there for those of us who need a gluten-free diet. I tried out some bread and gluten-free pizza crusts. So, I can't wait to tell you about that experience. But first, a bit about their company history. Rudi's Bakery opened for the first time in 1976 in Boulder, Colorado by Sheldon Romer. He named the bakery after a spiritual leader named Swami Rudrananda who brought the eastern culture and spiritual traditions to America. By 1981, Rudi's Bakery became certified Kosher and soon their products appeared on grocery store shelves. They were one of the first to participate in an organic food program in 1998. So you can tell that this bakery has made food production and quality be their priority and has had such a great impact on the food industry overall. The Mod Cabin - Quality Beard Care Products [Review and Giveaway]

Image
For you ladies out there with bearded fellas in your life, whether it's a brother, boyfriend, friend, father, or anyone other guy that has beard or facial hair, you would be surprised how much attention goes into caring for the hair on their face. So I can't wait to share my brother's experiences who had the chance to try out some amazing facial hair products made by ModCabin.com . What I really can appreciate about this company is that they make their products in consideration for the type of individual who really cares about what they put on their skin. They state that their products don't contain any "parabens, phthalates, sulfates, or synthetic dyes" which have been linked to "skin sensitivity, neurotoxicity, and cancer." And you can just tell based on the information they describe on their site that they take skin care products very seriously. And whether you are male or female, I think you should take that into serious consideration when

Activity Gift Ideas: Be Tourist in Your Own Town with Vimbly.com!

Image
Although I've lived in Portland, Oregon for over 7 years now, there are still some unexplored neighborhoods that I have yet to really get to know. You know how it is, when you get into a rut it's just hard to break out of sometimes! One thing that I would love to see happen for myself is to really get to know some of these areas and when I heard about Vimbly.com I knew this was the right way to do that! So I can't wait to talk about their website. First of all, I do want to tell you they aren't in EVERY city. Right now it looks like they are in Anaheim, Los Angeles, New York City, Phoenix, Seattle, Boston, Maui, Portland, Washington DC, Chicago, Miami, Orlando, San Diego, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Philadelphia, and San Francisco. It took me less than two seconds with my Facebook account. And once you select a city to

Three Bakers Gluten Free Bread [Review and Giveaway]

Image
I love when I can find tasty gluten-free bread. It's something that's actually hard to find. But when I had the opportunity to review Three Bakers Gluten Free Bread I jumped at the chance. I knew this would be the right product for me especially when I read over the company history. Jan and her husband Dan launched the bakery following not too long after her diagnosis of Celiac Disease. Experimenting with the variety of gluten free flours proved to be difficult until finally they got the recipe right and soon couldn't keep up with the demand. Honoring her father who had passed away in 2003, Jan the "Three Bakers" company was born.   Read more about her inspiring journey to go gluten free by following this link. I received three different breads to try (as well as purchased a loaf of my own bread in the grocery store!). I tried the MaxOmego Whole Grain and 5 Seed Bread . 7 Ancient Grains Whole Grain Bread , the White Bread Whole Grain , and the Whole Grain H

Purex PowerShot Review (And Enter the Purex Grand Prize Giveaway!) [Review and Giveaway]

Image
The newest, latest and greatest thing from Purex has come out this February. It's called PowerShot - blazam! Doesn't it make you think of something magical and powerful? Well it definitely makes me think that! I had the chance to try out this new product before it hit the shelves and I can't wait to tell you about it. First of all, I noticed that it really got out the grime in my wash. And when I finished the wash cycle my clothes and linen were impressively clean! Voila! I love the fact that it measures things out for you too with the little cup and that is already attached at the top. I hate having to waste a lot of time having my hands gunked up by the cap that you usually have to mess with in most detergents. I did have to avoid the temptation to overdo the soap. I trusted that this detergent knew how much I would need and it was right. Overall I would highly recommend you give this a try if you happen to see it at the grocery store. As a tip, I tend to find th

Coffee Suggestions: New England Blizzard Bold Review

Image
New England Coffee is a family owned third generation coffee company that has been in business for more than 95 years. I had the chance to try out their seasonal blend of coffee and I can't wait to share with you my experience. I had the chance to try the New England Blizzard Bold coffee. I tend to be a very very picky coffee drinker. When I read about a company's "bold" roast, I usually get concerned, because sometimes I find that it doesn't have that full taste that I like about bold roasts. To be honest, I often find an underlying cheaper taste to some of the bold roasts I've tried in the past. But this time, I had the chance to try something that was really tasty. The New England Blizzard Bold Coffee is a full dark roast without any kind of bitter quality to it. It's very flavorful. With a lot of the dark roasts I try, I sometimes come across an old or burnt quality to it, but not with this coffee. It's really enjoyable for any kind of coffe

NewAir AH-450B Space Heater Review

Image
I had the chance to review the NewAir Electric Space Heater AH-450B. This is an incredible little heater that I have in my living room. Although do note, my living room is fairly small. So far, I would recommend this for small bedrooms and not large spaces as I don't think it would heat large rooms well. First, it's extremely easy to set up. When you receive this item, you really just have to place the wheels on the bottom (very easy to install) and plug it in. The wheels are good to keep the heater off the carpet or flooring and so it has enough room (and won't overheat). I usually leave the heater on at 75 degrees and leave it at the "ECO" option (instead of the HIGH or LOW setting). Also, the great thing is that you can also have the timer set for 2 hours up to 8 hours (so it can go off on it's own). This is really convenient because sometimes I can forget to turn off the heater and if you have a busy day ahead of you, having the a

Purchase Same Quality Electronics, but Cheaper than Big Box Stores

Image
I am such a hound for finding a good deal and this new website is just up my alley (and yours!). It's called FoxSmart and right now their products lean more towards things you need for your entertainment system, but I know there's more to come. Before I go into details about what I had the chance to review, I highly recommend you take a minute and read a bit about the company. They definitely stand out from the "big box store" crowd and they are setting themselves apart by keeping their prices low. They state on their site that they keep their prices lower than Amazon and Walmart otherwise they won't carry the product. How awesome is that?? I'm keeping a very very close eye on this company to see what new amazing things are to come. Read more (and get a kick out of their sense of humor!) by following this link . I had the chance to review quite a few items actually. A 17" - 42" TV Mount (available for $5.00) Purchase Now Stereo Aux Cabl
