Elemental Herbs - Helping My Lips Stay Beautiful! [Review + Giveaway]

I tend to get lazy about lip balm and forget to add this to my beauty bag. But recently I had an AWFUL experience with the EOS lip balm because my skin started to peel and it got weirdly sticky. I think it was just something in the EOS lip balm I was allergic too. So when that happened, I knew I had to find something different. I had the chance to try out lip balm by Elemental Herbs and I can't wait to tell you about it.

I tried out a five lip balms from them -

Coconut Lip Balm

Original Lip Balm (with SPF!)

Spearmint Lip Balm

Organic Original Lip Balm

Tangerine Lip Balm

Honestly, I really liked all of them. I liked the Original Lip Balm with SPF, because it had SPF. I don't own a car and I am going to be out in the sun more when walking home. So, having a lip balm that has SPF is important to me. It's not super high (SPF 12) but it's not something I see too often with lip balms. So this was very awesome to me. I loved the Spearmint and Tangerine lip balm for during the day. The flavor was a nice little boost! I am a huge fan of organic and I am especially loving the coconut lip balm they offered.

One thing I noticed about using it was that I just didn't have to use it a lot. I do wear makeup so I usually swipe some on before I put on lipstick. I immediately noticed how nice my lips responded to this lip balm. It wasn't something that I had to use too much of, I literally swiped some on about two or three times a day. My lips didn't peel at all. What a difference!

I also had the chance to try out some coconut oil by Elemental Herbs. I didn't get as much of a positive experience with the coconut oil. It didn't seem to blend into my skin as nicely as the one I do regularly use. But I know from my personal experience skin responds differently to coconut oil and so this is always something to consider.

I really liked they're pricing too. Each of the above lip balms run about $3.50 each. You might also spot these in stores too, so keep your eye out! Visit this link to find a store nearby. Also, be sure to follow them on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube.

Best of all I get to giveaway two lip balms to TWO lucky readers! Simply enter via Rafflecopter below. Giveaway ends on 6/12.

Happy Celiac Awareness Month! [& Giveaway!]

This is an important month for Celiacs. I've not been diagnosed with Celiac Disease, but what has perked my interest is how celiacs cannot have gluten in their diets. Since going gluten-free, many times you hear a lot of information about being gluten-free alongside being diagnosed with Celiac.

I partnered up with Glutino this month to boast about their amazing options for celiacs (or those of you who have a gluten allergy or are gluten sensitive).

Before I get into my experience with Glutino, I have a few sites I can highly recommend to read more about Celiac disease -

1. CureCeliacDisease.org

They have a very interesting frequently asked questions area where you can find out more about Celiac disease, whether or not a gluten sensitivity exists, and so much more. Pus they have an awesome guide on learning how to live with Celiac Disease as well.

2. CeliacCentral.org

Here is also where you can find out more about Celiac disease, symptoms, and there's also information about events coming, giveaways. It's a fantastic way to get educated and find support if you have Celiac disease.

3. Celiac.org

Another way to get educated about Celiac disease. They also have an interesting section on getting involved and supporting the cause. They even have gluten-free recipes and a certified gluten free marketplace where you can shop gluten-free, worry-free.

I hope this helps you to get support and find education about Celiac Disease. It's often clumped in with us gluten-free-ks (hehe) and being diagnosed with Celiac Disease is a very serious thing. I also highly recommend visiting this blog I found recently called 'The Gluten Dude' because he posts really interesting stuff about his journey with Celiac disease, gluten-free foods, and he's also really funny too.

Now onto my experience with Glutino! Check out the lot of stuff I received:

Glutino has such amazing products to try and I couldn't believe what I had the chance to try and I each and every one of them.

I also tried out their baking mixes for the first time. These are so fun to me. Sometimes on Saturday I like to make one of these, especially since I like the vibe of having something homemade without the effort. Of all the mixes I tried, the chocolate cake mix (which actually was more like chocolate muffins because I split it up into muffin tins (or is it cupcakes?). This was unbelievable. It was so rich. I didn't bother making any separate icing, just had the mix, and it was still incredible.

My second favorite of the bunch were the gluten-free lemon wafers (which as you can see from above this was paired with raspberries and frozen yogurt). This is an awesome summer treat and a wonderful tasty goodie to have out in the sun!

Lastly, I really REALLY liked their English muffins. This is one of the first gluten-free English Muffins I have tried and I really enjoyed it. It's hearty and flavorful (I highly recommend the multi-grain).

Happy Celiac Awareness Month everyone! I hope you get the chance to read about Celiac Disease and get more awareness about what it is exactly. Make sure you also visit Glutino's website for gluten-free recipe ideas and get a coupon! They have so much to offer so make sure you visit their website to find out which gluten-free products they have!

In addition, I get to give away five free Glutino product coupons to one lucky reader! All you have to do is enter via Rafflecopter below. It ends on 6/4.

CampusBookRental.com - Save Money on Summer College Session

Are you in college and plan on going to summer school this year? I remember those days and having to tax on even MORE expenses to an already tight budget. Text books are always expensive and the campus bookstore doesn't help ease the burden.

Be rest assured, there IS a better alternative. Visit CampusBookRental.com. It's like your own personal campus bookstore with a heart. First, you get 40-90% off those sky-high bookstore prices. Nothing like purchasing a text book in the comfort of your own home while in your pajamas.

Plus there is FREE shipping both ways, whether you are getting the book or returning it. This is nicer than trying to resell the text book for change (don't you hate buying a $200 text book to sell it back for $25?) With Campus Book Rental, you are cutting the costs and energy spent on purchasing the text books in your college bookstore.

Love to highlight? Well, you can highlight the books you rent. I like that a lot, because you don't want to hold back on the learning process. And best of all, there are flexible renting periods.

And finally, with each text book rented, Campus Book Rental donates money to Operation Smile. It's an amazing program for children with facial deformities, cleft palates and lips all over the most struggling parts of the world. It's a good cause that makes you feel good you are contributing to a program like this.

I hope I've convinced to save money this summer! Remember, visit CampusBookRental.com for more details.

I received compensation for this post. All opinions are my own.

Beardsmen Spirit - Excellent Facial Hair Care for Men [Review]

My brother had the chance to try out some facial hair care made by Beardsmen Spirit. He is beginning to really appreciate some of these beard care products! He always talks about how they improve the look of his facial hair and makes it easier to manage. So I was happy to ask him share his experience with everyone.

Beardsmen Spirit "Bold Forest" beard Oil

He automatically raved about this one. He thought it smelled wonderful. He said it absorbed nicely and left his facial hair looking shiny, full, and healthy. This came highly recommended especially because the size of the container. (He noticed most of the beard oil places don't send a large amount of oil; this container was a generous size).

Beardsmen Spirit Mustache Wax

He noticed right away that the mustache wax wasn't as easy to apply. He recommended putting this out in the direct sun (maybe by a window that gets sunlight) so the product softens a bit. When he was able to get enough of the product out to use on his facial hair, it worked out okay. He did say it smelled nice, but really preferred the beard oil.

Purchase the Beardsmen Spirit beard oil or beard wax on Amazon.com right now.  The price isn't too bad. For the beard oil, you can buy a four ounce bottle for $16.95. For the mustache wax, you can purchase a container for $15.95.

I received the above products in exchange for my honest review.

Dove Fruit Chocolate - A Good Idea Anytime, Anywhere

dove, fruit

You know that food where you are fairly certain you could eat it until you are seriously not doing too well? I found this food in Dove Fruit Chocolate.

I'm not always a fan of chocolate covered fruit because some times it's just too dried fruit tasting or the pieces of fruit are too small for me to appreciate. But when I tried Dove Fruit Chocolate I knew I had something amazing on my hands. You would be proud of me though because I shared this with my mom and brother and we spread it out over the week.

This was just good stuff. I tried out three different kinds - Whole Cherries, Whole Blueberries, and Whole Cranberries. Each had a very unique flavor because of the fruit inside. My favorite was the Chocolate Covered Whole Cherries because you get great sized pieces of chocolate. I did enjoy the Chocolate Covered Whole Blueberries and Chocolate Covered Cranberries but not as much as the cherries. This is something I will look for again.

What I really like about these chocolates is that they were DARK chocolate covered. Dark Chocolate has been known to be really good for your heart and you can tell as you taste each piece of this chocolate that this isn't junky chocolate that you might hand out at Halloween. In fact, I'm fairly sure you may want to hide this away in your own stash. Better yet, as the seasons change and the outdoors starts to call you out, these chocolates would make a wonderful addition to a trail mix.

Find out more information about Dove Fruit by following this link. Get recipes and other tasty treat ideas by visiting this link. Follow them on Facebook,  Pinterest, Twitter, and YouTubeClick here to find out where to buy some Dove Fruit in a store near you.

I received these chocolates in exchange for my honest review.

Shop For a Good Cause [Greater Good Review + Giveaway]

I've gotten more and more into online shopping, especially with the lack of a car. With so many different websites to use, I think one of the most difficult things to do is choose which one you like best. One of the websites I think you should put down on your list is the Greater Good Shop.

According to their website, a small portion of each item you purchase goes back to charity. They've partnered with Novica to bring some amazing items to purchase from and they import items from all over the world. Read more about Greater Good by following this link.

I looked around for a few items that I could enjoy as well as some small prizes my mom and my brother. For my brother, I selected socks. For my mom, I chose a journal. For myself, I selected earrings. For all of us, I choose some nice soap.

Earrings - $14.95

Wool Socks $9.99
Journal $12.95
Soap $4.00

One thing you should note while you are on the site is that as you are perusing you may see photos of three different products. The reason I'm pointing this out is that at first I assumed that I'd be getting all three. In actuality, they just want to show you what colors you can choose.

Another thing to note are sizes. They photograph the sizes very large, so some items may not be as large as you think if you purchase based on the picture. So take careful consideration when you purchase.

Overall though, I love everything that this site has to offer in terms of product. I also really like the fact that the items you buy are going to a good cause. One fun thing is when you first go to the site, there are a variety of causes listed across the top and if you click a cause that you want to support, it will take you to a page where you can purchase items that will go directly to that cause.

I am happy to say that I am giving away a $50 credit to the Greater Good Shop to one lucky reader!

Shop now to buy wonderful gift items or things for yourself. Make sure you follow Greater Good Shop on Facebook and Pinterest and sign up to receive their emails. Ends 5/28

Why A Naturepedic Mattress Would Be A Wonderful Birthday Surprise!

I'm joining in the fun to win the chance for a Naturepedic EOS Standard Mattress. Blogger Mommy Greenest has a new book coming out called "The Mommy Greenest Guide to Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond" and best of all this book will be free for all you moms and moms-to-be out there. I think that's pretty amazing. She received help from a few brands to launch the book, such as Acure Organics, Babo Botanicals, Naturepedic, and Weleda.

Actually I'm not so much entering this giveaway for myself, but I'm hoping I can win this new Naturepedic bed for my mom. She's been using the same mattress she's had for more than fifteen years. Things have been financially very hard lately and we just can't afford a new one right now. Every dollar counts and this kind of purchase would be impossible. It's an important purchase though because she's always talking about how terrible her mattress feels and it seems to

Amazingly enough this giveaway ends right around her birthday and I would LOVE to surprise her with this. She lost her job in 2013 and this would boost her spirits so much. I try not to go down the road of pulling the bleeding heart card and I don't divulge too much on this blog about my personal life anyways, but something like this is so needed for my family right now. I'm sure I'm not alone, though!

Anyways, on the note of "going green", it seems like these days going green is becoming more important as the impact we have on the environment is getting clearer. Global warming cannot be denied and I'm reminded daily on the news and everywhere on the terrible impact we are having on the planet. Although I don't have kids right now, when I am ready for that stage in my life, I want to be as informed as possible on what I'm bringing into the home. Plus I want to teach them about it too. This is why books like these are super important.

Make sure you check out her incredible new book by following this link and check out the mattresses that Naturepedic has to offer. I love the fact that their mattresses do NOT include toxic chemicals like flame retardants. Talk about a restful, worry-free sleep.

Find out how you can win Naturepedic mattress by reading Mommie Greenest blog post. You have until 5/24/2015 to enter.

Way Better Snacks Are Way Better! [Review and Giveaway Ends 5/7]

I had the chance to try snacks made by Way Better which might just bring you to the question, "Why are they way better?" Well why don't I answer this for you (courtesy of Way Better Snacks).

1) Simple Ingredients
2) Sprouting, which gives you increased vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, digestibility, and nutrient absorption.
3) Great Taste
4) and last but not least, better for you! Their snacks are non-GMO Project Verified (VERY important to me), certified Gluten-Free, Certified Whole Grains Council, and many ingredients are Certified Organic.

Those are important reasons why their snacks are way better! Read more about their company and how they started on their website.

So for my review I had the chance to try out several different Way Better chips.

Sweet Chili Corn Tortilla Chips

Black Bean Corn Tortilla Chips

Multi-Grain Corn Tortilla Chips

Simply Sweet Potato Tortilla Chips

Simply Beyond Black Bean

Mustard and Onion Chips

Of the ones I tried, the Sweet Chili and Mustard and Onion were by far my favorite. These were EXTREMELY flavorful and I wanted way more. The others were good and I personally really like Sweet Potato Chips because of their mild sweet flavor. One thing I noticed about all of these Way Better chips is how hearty they were. I usually added a small handful to my lunch because once I had a few chips with my lunch I didn't need a whole lot more.

I think overall if you are a snacker like I am you will want to purchase these chips. They make you feel good by having them because they aren't super junky and they make lunch much more interesting.

Make sure you visit Way Better Snacks on their website to find out where to get these in a store near you or buy them online. You can follow them on FacebookTwitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.

Best of all I get to giveaway the same chips to one lucky reader! Enter via Rafflecopter below. Giveaway ends on 5/21.
