Elephant Pants - Save the Elephants & Feel Comfortable [My Review]

Do you watch the show, "Shark Tank"? I haven't caught but maybe a few episode here and there, but I loved watching the episode featuring the two guys who created "Elephant Pants." Make sure you check it out first -

Basically, Elephant Pants were created by two guys with a common goal - save the elephants through clothes. They started in 2014, and have sold more than 400,000 pairs of pants. They have donated more than $127,000 to organizations that work to save elephants. Isn't this amazing?? Check out their story here.  And be sure to find out how exactly they help by visiting this page too .

So, I was lucky enough to get a pair of elephant pants for my mom and I! Here's a photo of me relaxing in my elephant pants -

Well, part of a photo of me anyways. So, my initial thought was - oh how I wish that elastic band wasn't there. I almost wish it was a tie or something. If I'm relaxing, I don't like the idea of something that close to my waste.…

Lundberg Rice Review (and Rice Cooker Giveaway)

As you can see, I'm really into rice. Lundberg is also one of my favorite brands!
Here's a bit about the company - they can trace their roots all the way back to 1937 when founders Albert and Frances Lundberg moved to California, in the Sacramento Valley. Albert's four sons grew up to sell the rice their family had been growing and three and four generations later the company is STILL in the family. How cool is that? Read more about the Lundbergs over on their about page.

Well, I was so happy to try out this amazing VitaClay Rice Cooker  and I can't wait to tell you about it. My first impression? WOW this thing is huge. It takes up a lot of counter space and it's just...really really big.
I just tried it last night for the first time (I was daring and made some red rice they sent me). I made a cup of rice and followed their instructions on how to make it. I didn't rinse the rice as they recommend - I just added a 1/4 cup more water (which they recommend you…

Crazy Richards Peanut Butter Review & Giveaway

I absolutely love peanut butter. Really, I mean peanut butter is such a huge part of my diet. And you know, I really appreciate when peanut butter has simple ingredients. Peanuts. Salt. And that's it. I don't like added oils and I'm not TOO big of a fan of flavored peanut butters. Although I'd never turn down chocolate peanut butter (if I found the right blend!).
Anyways, I had the chance to try out some peanut butter by a company called, "Crazy Richards." Crazy Richard's Peanut Butter has been around a while. It was formed and combined by two Richards about 30 years ago and was recently passed along to the newest generation.
Well, I got the chance to try out their peanut butter - creamy and crunchy. I loved it. Here's a weird thing I love with peanut butter - whole milk vanilla Greek yogurt with blueberries! Sure people put peanut butter in smoothies, but I scoop out some of my favorite vanilla greek yogurt into a cup and put it in the freezer with …

My Gluten-Free Journey and Finding Really Good Bread [Gluten Free Coupon Inside!]

Having bread when you are eating gluten-free is a tough battle. I was lucky enough to get a variety of bread to review from Gluten Free Things and I can't wait to share my experience with you. More on that later though!
I started going gluten-free a few years ago. I initially did it to support my mom who had realized she had a wheat and gluten allergy. Then when I avoided gluten with her, I realized some issues I had been battling went away. And voila! My gluten-free journey began.
The tough part about being gluten-free is that you want to try and find foods that agree with your system. It can be hard too. Things I never thought had gluten - do. Like some dressings, some spice blends, even some mustards! So shopping has become a careful experience. I read ingredients labels so closely now and google search my heart out when I am suspicious of a product having wheat or gluten.
The funny thing is though, I really miss bread. Like bread, bagels, rolls. In fact, I vividly remember b…

Lotus Foods Rice Review and Giveaway

I tend to eat quite a bit of rice in my diet. First, because it's a healthy grain. Plus, I'm also gluten-free and it's a good grain for me to have that won't negatively impact my body.
So I usually purchase one particular type of rice brand, so I was really eager for the chance to try out a new kind. I tried out rice by Lotus Foods. You may have seen them in the store or heard of them before!
What makes Lotus Foods different? Well they work towards improving the lives of the farmers they work with first of all. They use what is called a "System of Rice Intensification." It's a way of allowing farms to "double and triple their yields while using 80-90% less seed, 50% less water, less or no chemical inputs." Basically, more rice, less water. So I tend to be a visual learner, so if you want to know more about what this means, watch this really short video below:

They also partner with small scale farmers, which I think is amazing and I really …

Well, I've collected some really good recipes and foods for you to add to your food plan for the day and I hope your taste buds are ready. This stuff looks GOOD.

Well if you are planning on doing a cookout or a barbecue or a picnic, I've accumulated some really great recipes you should try out.

Kiwi Lime Pie with Graham Cracker Crust

Blogger Heidi's Home Cooking made this amazing recipe. I love this recipe because it allows you to make the crust yourself! It uses graham crackers and macadamia nuts in the crust! How cool is that? Some of the other ingredients a…

Disney's Beauty and the Beast CD is Here [Enter to win!]

I was lucky enough to receive a copy of the Beauty and the Beast CD! You know that one movie that was recreated by Disney and caused quite a stir? Oh, THAT one. Heh. I couldn't resist taking the opportunity to review the CD because it would give me some insight to what the movie was like!

By the way, the Beauty and the Beast Soundtrack will be on sale for $7.99 starting May 12th through May 18th which you can purchase on iTunes, by the way. Purchase now.

I listened to the CD and I am SUCH a huge fan of the original animated version that I almost couldn't get beyond it to enjoy the CD. However, it did make me curious enough to want to see the movie! Have you seen it? Did you enjoy it as much as the animated version?

I appreciated the remade version of Beauty and the Beast with Ariana Grande and John Legend. Didn't have the same magic as the original but it was a lovely version. But like I said, I'm such a die hard fan of the original so I listened to it with those kind…

5 Recipes Made with Gluten-Free Bagels

When I think of bagels, I don't usually think of things I can make with them outside of my usual go to stuff, like cheese melts, avocado toast and toasted bagel and peanut butter.
But there are some recipes that take bagels to the next level and I came across some created by "The Greater Knead" bagel company and I absolutely had to share these with you. And I had the chance to try out some of their bagels, but more on that later. First, the tasty bagel goodness.
The Bagel Crumble.

To make this, you take their chocolate bagel (oh yes, I said chocolate), a little oil, and cinnamon and some honey. And from there you chop it up and bake it and cover it with tastiness and put it over ice cream. Just check out this recipe and you'll see why you want it.

If there is anyone out there reading this that remembers how yummy french toast was pre-gluten-free days, I think you should check out this …

Ways to Add More Fiber to Your Diet

Fiber fiber fiber! I feel like fiber doesn't get the same kind of attention protein does, but fiber does good things. And I had the chance to review some great fiber products, but more on that later. Well, fiber, keeps you regular (ahem, we all know what I mean) which is wonderful for the health of your bowels. And according to the Mayo Clinic, it can also lower cholesterol, help your blood sugar levels, and helps you maintain a healthy weight (because fiber is so much more filling!) (SOURCE)

Well, how do you GET fiber is the next question?

My first favorite that I tend to have a lot in my diet - BEANS. Beans are filled with fiber and I'm learning you can have all KINDS of beans to get fiber. Lima beans, lentils, black beans, kidney beans, garbanzo beans, and so much more.

Next fruits. Apples, right? That's the first thing that came to mind for me. But you can also get fiber from berries too. And bananas. And prunes.

And don't forget vegetables too. Apparently, accord…

5 Gift Ideas for Mother's Day

Can you believe it's almost May? That means that Mother's Day is just around the corner! So if you are trying to think of some gift ideas, I think you need to consider something a bit out of the box. I've had the chance to try out a couple of Thoughtfully gift boxes and they make for great gifts. It's a bit like combining a physical gift with an experience gift. You don't just open the box and enjoy what you received - you experience it. Plus you can select a gift based on the personality of your mom as well! It's not a one sized fits all company.

1) Mom's Survival Kit

This is an adorable gift, especially for the mom with younger children. It includes a coffee thermos, a babysitter notepad, earbuds, real coffee, and some more goodies! Probably not the most personal gift if you are giving this to your mom but if you have a friend who is a new mom I think this is a great gift to give. Especially if you offer your babysitting services so she can have a night …

Why You Should Buy Organic Coffee [and Giveaway]

I'm always on the organic route when I go into a grocery store, but I have only just recently heard that we really should be drinking organic coffee. I never really thought of this before and didn't realize the importance of choosing organic coffee until now.

One major reasons to drink organic coffee?

You avoid a good majority of the pesticides.

This is the main reason I choose organic produce. Did you know that coffee is known to be one of the most heavily sprayed crops? While many argue the roasting process eliminates the pesticide residue, this still doesn't leave warm feelings in my coffee pot about what the coffee bean could entail. (SOURCE)

It's also environmentally beneficial. Many conventional growers will clear out forests to make room for their crops. This eliminates natural pest killers like birds and other creatures and this leads to more pesticide use. Organic coffee is grown more naturally, maintaining the forest life in the surrounding area. Quick Gluten-Free Breakfast Idea - Flax4Life Muffins [My Review]

Recently, I had the chance to try out some amazing treats by Flax4Life. I am gluten intolerant and I often have a hard time embracing the idea of a quick breakfast. I mean the only one I can usually think of is yogurt, which maybe isn't all that quick if you have to eat on the go. I like the idea of baking something healthy in advance for the week, but realistically I don't often have the energy for that.
I think what makes Flax4Life an excellent morning treat is that it's really filling, tastes good and you won't feel bad afterwards. Flax4Life is a family owned business and they've been in business for over 15 years now. They come from a family of gluten-intolerant as well as many who have Celiac disease - so they've been making gluten-free products for more than a decade now. They make their products in a gluten, nut AND dairy free facility. Check out their about page for more info.
I got the chance to try out some of their muffins and some mini-brownies. F…

The Best Gluten-Free Soup I've Had in a Long Time (And Giveaway]

Since I've been gluten-free it isn't always to figure out easy lunch solutions. I'm not a huge fan of frozen options and I really don't think I've found the perfect, consistently amazing lunch time bread. And soups? Well, I haven't found my favorite soups yet either. Until now.
So I had the chance to try out Blount's Soups! I tried two different kinds -
Tomato Bisque

Broccoli Cheddar

Here's what I thought:
The Good:
Theses soups are non-gmo, organic, and gluten-free. First, the tomato bisque. I found this tasted so good. I like when Tomato Soup is on the creamy side. And this was! I'm never a fan when tomato soup has more of a ketchupy, liquidy tomato flavor. But when it really tastes like a soup? Oh yum!
For the Broccoli Cheddar, it may not have been as thick and creamy and cheesy as I usually love about Broccoli Cheddar, it was still really tasty. I just needed a bit more salt.
The Not so Good
You know, not like I'm trying to avoid a…

Gluten-Free Food Ideas: Santa Cruz Organic Lemon Juice - Review & Giveaway

Welcome to the spring time! Okay we have a bit more time before it's official. And considering the snow storm and rainy weather, it doesn't seem like old man winter wants to loosen his grip. But still that doesn't mean you can't get started on celebrating the upcoming sunshine! Woo!

So recently I got the chance to try out the Santa Cruz Organic Lemon Juice. I like adding lemon juice to a variety of recipes because it adds an extra zing to it. Plus how many of us can't resist an ice cold glass of lemonade. Especially in the warmer weather. And it's coming! I'm sure of it.

What makes Santa Cruz Organic special is that it 100% organic AND it's non-GMO project verified. They are also 100% juices too. It's great ingredients so you don't have to worry!

What can you do with lemon juice? Well let me tell you!

- Add a tablespoon to tuna salad to give it an extra zing!

- Sprinkle some in salad for a low calorie dressing alternative.

- Mix some into your …

3 Reasons You Should Consider Shea Butter

I do enjoy finding natural items that I can use for beauty products. Vaseline and coconut oil really work well for my skin and I tend to avoid using products with hefty ingredients lists. Lately I've started to learn a bit more about shea butter which isn't something I've considered in the past!

1) It's incredibly moisturizing.

It gets into the deep layers of your skin and stops any kind of moisture loss. It's also nicely absorbed too - not greasy like a lot of other skin care products.

2) Anti-inflammatory

Actually there was a study in 2010  by the "Journal of Oleo Science" done recently that says shea butter reduces inflammation! It also has been known to be really healing as well.

3) Anti-aging.

Shea butter has a lot of antioxidants that replenish your skin. These vitamins are what fights the impact of aging on your skin.

4) Bonus reason! You can use it on your hair.

I've heard of using moisturizing products for your hair but recently I learned th…

Divatress - A Fantastic Way to Update Your Look! #Divatress #beauty #ad #spon

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine.

Recently my mom and I talked about how if we had the extra money, it would be fun to wear wigs. I think wigs are an EXCELLENT way of trying out a new hair color, a new hair style, and just updating your look in general without the commitment, the time, and the money. Personally I'm not really inclined to go to the salon and get dye jobs done and I'm definitely not brave enough for a short cut. But I would LOVE to try these things out with a wig.
So, I recently learned about Divatress. They offer wigs for anyone's budget! PLUS they have so many beautiful styles. They have synthetic wigs, wigs made with human hair, short wigs, and wigs for women of all ages. I was searching through their site and these wigs jumped out at me as being really fun to wear!

If your beauty budget makes you pause about going down the route of wigs, than you will be happy to know that Divatress is very affordable. I'm noticing a lot of their wigs …

Nature's Bakery - A Healthy Treat You Won't Feel Guilty About! [Review + Giveaway]

I'm a sucker for a grab and go treat. Something about the treat in it's quaint wrapper that I can just toss into a lunch bag that is vastly appealing to me. Being that I'm gluten-free, I'm always really cautious of my treat choices too! So, I can't wait to share this amazing treat that Nature's Bakery has to offer.

I had the chance to try out a couple of different treats by them. First, their gluten-free fig bars (and then my brother had the luck to try their brownies (which are NOT gluten-free)). Nature's Bakery started in 2010 by father and son team Dave and Richard Marson. I love their philosophy by the way, "Keep it simple, have fun, and achieve balance in life through nature, activity, nutrition, and community." Read more about how their company started here.

They offer a variety of gluten-free fig bars - fig, raspberry, pomegranate, and blueberry. I personally loved the blueberry, it was a tasty experience and in general, I love the blueber…
