Block Island Organics: Excellent Sunscreen for Your Face [My Review + #Coupon]

Image
Am I the only one who completely forgets to renew their sunscreen? I mean, I swear I have stuff from like ten years ago in my bathroom cabinets.  According to the American Academy of Dermatology , your sunscreen is required by the FDA to last at least three years. So we can all breathe a sigh of relief there. But my ten year comment holds true - that stuff needs to go. If you are like me, than that means you are in need of some sunscreen. What kind should you buy?  The American Academy of Dermatology recommends your sunscreen have broad spectrum protection, SPF (which stands for Sun Protection Factor! Did you know that? I didn't!) and be water resistant.  Well I had the chance to try out a Natural Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 by Block Island Organics and I was so impressed. It really is light weight, smells good (well, I love the smell of sunscreen anyways!) and you really don't need a lot at all. It comes in a container size of 3.4 ounces which is a bit small. How

The Elephant Pants - Save the Elephants & Feel Comfortable [My Review]

Image
Do you watch the show, "Shark Tank"? I haven't caught but maybe a few episode here and there, but I loved watching the episode featuring the two guys who created "The Elephant Pants." Make sure you check it out first - Basically, The Elephant Pants were created by two guys with a common goal - save the elephants through clothes. They started in 2014, and have sold more than 400,000 pairs of pants. They have donated more than $127,000 to organizations that work to save elephants. Isn't this amazing?? Check out their story here.   And be sure to find out how exactly they help by visiting this page too . So, I was lucky enough to get a pair of elephant pants for my mom and I! Here's a photo of me relaxing in my elephant pants - Well, part of a photo of me anyways. So, my initial thought was - oh how I wish that elastic band wasn't there. I almost wish it was a tie or something. If I'm relaxing, I don't like the idea of something

Lundberg Rice Review (and Rice Cooker Giveaway)

Image
As you can see, I'm really into rice. Lundberg is also one of my favorite brands!  Here's a bit about the company - they can trace their roots all the way back to 1937 when founders Albert and Frances Lundberg moved to California, in the Sacramento Valley. Albert's four sons grew up to sell the rice their family had been growing and three and four generations later the company is STILL in the family. How cool is that? Read more about the Lundbergs over on their about page.  Well, I was so happy to try out this amazing VitaClay Rice Cooker  and I can't wait to tell you about it. My first impression? WOW this thing is huge. It takes up a lot of counter space and it's just...really really big.  I just tried it last night for the first time (I was daring and made some red rice they sent me). I made a cup of rice and followed their instructions on how to make it. I didn't rinse the rice as they recommend - I just added a 1/4 cup more water
