Beanfield Snacks - Bean Chips That are Flavor Packed

Image
I spotted someone with this chip bag most recently and so I jumped at the opportunity to review these chips. Beanfields Snacks was founded in 2011 by Reed Glidden and his wife Liza Braude-Glidden as well as Reed's brother Roy Glidden. And they wanted to change the way we all ate (what better way to start than how we snack right??) So they created delicious plant based Non-GMO (so important to me!) snacks.   They are an environment conscious company and they also include a main ingredients that is better for your health than the usual ingredients that you see in chips - beans! There is so much good stuff at this company so make sure you visit their site and see what they offer the community and the good works that they do . Now to the chips! I had the chance to try out a wide variety. I immediately tasted the difference in these chips than others I've tried. The beans in them gave them such a heartier flavor. They didn't taste empty to me and at the same ti

Perfect Bar - Perfect Way to Snack Your Day

Image
I'm always on the look out for making my snack times easier and healthier. I love the idea of a health bar but sometimes they don't cut it for me - preservatives, weird tastes, strange ingredients, all that stuff. But then I discovered the Perfect Bar and I couldn't wait to try it out and tell you about it. This was a surprisingly awesome experience having this bar. And I can tell you that this is one of my new favorite things. Let's start with the most basic amazingness that is the peanut butter bar. It's 17 grams of protein, and when you check out the ingredients of this bar, you can see all the good stuff, such as honey, good oils like flax seed oil, olive oil, and also food powders, such as organic lemon, organic papaya, tomato...and so much more; in fact, I'm not even doing it justice, so be sure to go to their website to see what other kinds of good stuff you get from this awesome perfect bar . I noticed the taste of the veggies in thi

Nana Joes Granola - Upgrade Your Breakfast! [Review and Giveaway]

Image
I had the chance to try out some granola by Nana Joes. It was started by Michelle Pusateri who wanted to create something nourishing that she could eat in between surfing. I think that makes her cool in my book! She taste tested granola and voila! Here we have Nana Joes! Read more about the company here. I got the chance to try out a few different granola types.  The Trieftca Blend  Purchase Now $9 This has a variety of things in it - rolled oats, maple syrup, pieces of cocoa nibs, cranberries and more! Make sure you click on purchase now above to read the rest of the ingredients. It's gluten-free, and nut free too. I thought this granola was perfect with yogurt. It wasn't too chunky and it blended nicely in my yogurt - wasn't totally awkward to eat with a spoon. I could really tell this was a healthier granola too - not a whole lot of junk in it, and that is greatly appreciated. It's a looser granola than what I usually see - not sure ho

Gluten-Free Oats That You Must Try! [And Check Out My New Recipe!]

Image
I had the chance to branch out and try some new oats by this really cool company - Bakery On Main! Have you seen their stuff before? They offer some really unique variety of choices for those of us who eat gluten-free. I love when companies start out small like this one does, by the way. It started out as a small bakery in Connecticut, and the Founder and President, Michael Smulders is obviously passionate about making tasty gluten-free food safe for celiacs and people who are gluten intolerant. That is greatly appreciated by me! Read more about their story here . I had the chance to try out a couple of their oatmeal. It's one of the things that I really enjoy in the morning, especially as the season gets cold. And not only do I enjoy it in the microwave or on the stove but I love making oat muffins. Although one day I couldn't find my muffin tin so I turned my usual muffin recipe into more of a cake-ish bread creation as you can see picture below - This turned o

Cool Off During the Dog Days of Summer

Image
Right when I think we're done with the heat wave, another one is around the corner. Sure, it's the end of August and we should be done with summer soon at least, right? But not for me! The last few weeks have had at least 3 days of 90 degrees and although we're finally on the cooling trend, I can't help but let you guys know about the thing you must get to cool off for these dog days of summer. (And you never know, the fall could be hot!) So I had the chance to review the Honeywell Portable Air Conditioner. First of all, it comes in this great huge box which can seem overwhelming if you are worried about putting the thing together. But you know what? It's EXTREMELY easy. And I opened up this box and started putting it together late at night too, so how about that? The hardest part was the hose and connecting it to the unit. Which took me less than five minutes to do, which is pretty incredible actually (I think I spent more time putting together and an of
