Lotus Foods Rice Review and Giveaway

I tend to eat quite a bit of rice in my diet. First, because it's a healthy grain. Plus, I'm also gluten-free and it's a good grain for me to have that won't negatively impact my body.

So I usually purchase one particular type of rice brand, so I was really eager for the chance to try out a new kind. I tried out rice by Lotus Foods. You may have seen them in the store or heard of them before!

What makes Lotus Foods different? Well they work towards improving the lives of the farmers they work with first of all. They use what is called a "System of Rice Intensification." It's a way of allowing farms to "double and triple their yields while using 80-90% less seed, 50% less water, less or no chemical inputs." Basically, more rice, less water. So I tend to be a visual learner, so if you want to know more about what this means, watch this really short video below:

They also partner with small scale farmers, which I think is amazing and I really like working with companies that do that. One thing you can say for sure when you take a look at the rice they have to offer, they have SO many different kinds.

Organic Forbidden Rice (black rice)
Organic Jasmine Rice
Organic Brown Jasmine Rice
Organic Carnaroli Rice
Organic Jade Pearl Rice
Organic Madagascar Pink Rice
Organic Brown Mekong Flower
Organic Traditional Dehraduni Basmati Rice
Organic Volcano Rice
Organic Red Rice

Wow! Did you even know that there were this many different types of rice? I know I didn't.

Okay so I went with the safe route of trying out the white jasmine rice and brown jasmine rice. I personally love this type of rice. It cooked up wonderfully and the texture was great. I thought the white jasmine rice had a creamy buttery texture almost. I usually make rice dishes with beans, or with peas, or just with mixed grilled veggies on top. It's such a great thing to have precooked and made already in the fridge and I enjoy it a LOT.

Check out all the different kinds of rice Lotus Foods has available and purchase some today.

I'm also very excited to announce that I'm giving away a 30 ounce bag of the Basmati rice and Jasmine rice to one lucky reader. US only. Ends 6/14.

Also be sure to follow them on Twitter, FacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

I received the above items in exchange for my honest review.
