5 Must-Have Skin Care Products for the Summer

Image
There are some beauty products that have become staples for me this summer. Obviously, there are some products that are must have such as sunscreen for your face, waterproof sunscreen, and lip balm with SPF, ideally. But as the summer weighs in heavy and the heat becomes pretty blech, I tend to minimize my make up and increase my skin care. Here's a few items that should be added to your must-have list: 1) Rosewater Glycerin Spray I actually get this at Whole Foods and this is a must-have. It's light, smells gently like roses, and soothes your skin.  The brand that I use in particular is Heritage Products. Right now, Vitacost has it for $6.92, which is cheaper than what Heritage's online store is selling it for and cheaper than Amazon. Shop Now 2) Makeup Remover I know I just said that I don't use makeup remover, but I do at least put on foundation, mascara, some blush and lipstick. So, at the end of the day, I want a clean slate for my face. I tend to

Checkerbox USA - Men's Socks - The Must Buy for the Guy in Your Life

Image
Men's socks? Really? I mean, I know what you're thinking. How fancy could they could? The white ones come in packs of six. You get the nice black ones in a three pack sometimes. Psh, that's it. Well, that perception of socks is wrong. That's the perception that I know that I had at one point. Until I met CheckerBox Men's Apparel. Check out these socks I got for my brother - Aren't they colorful? I know he really liked the color and the nice texture of these socks. They felt good to wear, I just know it. So CheckerBox USA was founded by 17 year old Randy Gervais as an effort to bring about self expression within everyday society. Guys can be who they want to be with these socks. It's self expression! And if you can do it with fashionable accessories, I say go for it. Read more about the company by visiting this link.  And it may still be summer and you are probably in the whole sandal and barefoot season but as the fall season looms closer, thes

20 Recipes Made with Honey Perfect for the Summer [And Giveaway!]

Image
Sometimes it's hard to describe why a particular brand is your favorite. But this one is and I can't wait to tell you why. I am so glad they wanted to work with my blog too! So, L.R. Rice was started in Colorado back in 1924. It's a women-owned, family operated and in it's 5th generation. Talk about having roots! The family started out working in bee yards, extracting honey and filling glass jars and selling door to door in the Colorado area. They have established relationships with beekeepers across the United States which allows for quality honey to be distrbuted across the country. Watch their video! One thing that really makes me like this honey is that it is raw and unfiltered. It's the best way to have honey too. Want to learn more about honey? Check out their FAQ page! They also offer a wide variety of honey such as wild flower honey and local honey from a variety of areas. Want honey from the Northwest, check out this kind. It is reasonabl

5 Ways to Watch Movies Online For Free

Image
Now you don't have to pay a thing to watch a good movie. I'm in the process of cutting the cord, or at least, cutting BACK on the cord. It's quite the process, let me tell you. I find that I'm contemplating online streaming services such as Amazon streaming, Netflix, and Hulu. My biggest hestiation is that it's so easy to spend money on streaming services and soon I'll be spending as much money as I am on cable. But did you know that there is a way to find free movies online and not ditch on quality content? Well today over at NationalViral.com , I've talked about five ways you can watch movies for free. I've tried each of these sites myself and I'm a regular visitor to them. Check out my article here.   And then come back and tell me which sites you visit to watch movies!

Colorfy Your Kitchen! [Sweese Bowls Review[

Image
So I had the chance to review some bowls! They are made by a company called, "Sweese." I like the mission for their products - they build stuff meant to last. And they want to create products we can use again and again. I like that a lot! Check out more about the company here. I had the chance to try out the assorted porcelain fluted bowls by Sweese.  I have to say - I LOVED these. First, and foremost, I've had them a couple of weeks now and I'm so happy to see I haven't chipped them (does this happen to anyone else all the time)? One of the biggest things that I like about these bowls is that they are very very colorful. And they are also microwave safe, freezer and oven safe as well. I've microwaved with these bowls (I've also put them in the dishwasher and so far, so good). They are fantastic for soup because it holds a lot. To me, these bowls hold a generous sized portion of soup, or beans and rice, or cereal. Thanks to the fluted s

Shea Moisture and Nubian Heritage: My Newly Discovered Favorite Beauty Products

Image
Summer is here you guys! I am not a fan of the heat at all, and just recovered from this massive heat wave last weekend. What an intense ride that was! However, one enormous plus is that I rediscovered these amazing new products that I can't wait for you to try out.  The first is by a brand called, Shea Moisture." This is one of my newest and most favorite companies. They offer SO many things. I had the chance to try out a few items: Shea Moisture 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil If you haven't had the chance to use coconut oil on your skin, you need to now. This stuff makes my skin GLOW. And it lasts so long. I accidentally forgot that this stuff melts in the heat though. So you've been warned! I love this brand especially because they make it with fair trade and natural ingredients. I'm not the type to use coconut oil for food reasons but I LOVE it for my skin. I put it on my face every morning and use it as my moisturizer.  Shea Moistu

Snack Ideas When You Want Some Energy

Image
What category do you fall under? A mini-meal throughout the day type of person or three major meals all day? I tend to vary. As the weather gets warmer, I definitely fall under the mini-meal throughout the day type of person as I cannot stand eating heavily on a hot day.  And as I try to get exercise into my day, I definitely like choosing the right snacks for an energy boost. Here's my top five favorite snacks for energy boosting - Nuts and Seeds. More specifically, I got for pistachios, sunflower seeds, and almonds. Those are my go to energy boosters! Add in a cheese stick or two and I'm definitely good.  Some peanut butter and fruit. Or peanut butter and celery.  I usually go for berries as my fruit of choice but then also I love adding in some peanut butter. Mixing the two into yogurt is an excellent snack or pre workout breakfast. Or my other snack favorite is peanut butter and celery!  Hard Boiled Eggs Oh I love when I can make
