Pet News: Missing Cat Shows Up 4 Years Later

Image
(story originally published with KTVA ) I used to love sharing pet news with you guys and I wanted to bring it back! So, this news comes out of Anchorage, Alaska. The Miller family recently reunited with their 16-year-old cat Ruger after 4 years of having no idea where he went. I have a gut feeling Ruger was just catting around. via GIPHY Anyways, it all started because of a bad snow storm. Ruger usually always comes in when it snows and when Ruger didn't, the family went door to door in search for their cat. Months of searching and knocking on doors and the family never found Ruger! via GIPHY What reunited the family? Four years later, at the Anchorage Animal Care and Control, the staff found poor old Ruger in a night drop off bin for animals. They scanned the chip and contacted the Millers. Mom Cassie Miller showed up and once she called out Cassie's name he meowed up a storm. Now the family is finally complete and Ruger is back with his family! via GIPHY

I Don't Regret Cutting Cable (And Why You Should Cancel Yours)

Image
Over a year ago, I canceled my cable subscription services. Before I canceled, I worried that I would miss out on various stations that I loved watching (like Lifetime or AMC). This kept me in a vicious cycle of paying too much for cable while also battling pricing adjustments made by my cable company. Until finally, I decided to cut the cord. To this day, over one year later, I don't regret canceling cable. First, there are a wide variety of ways to still watch television with options available through streaming devices. For example, things like Google Chromecast Streaming Media Player allows you to watch TV shows, movies, Live TV, and so much more. In fact, it's even voice activated! It also easily connects to HDTVs which is really nice. It connects from your phone to the TV, it's an incredibly seamless process. Find out more information about Google Chromecast Streaming Media Player here. I do have a couple of different subscriptions through streaming services such

Where Do You Keep Your Coffee? My Review of a Coffee Canister

Image
I never really thought about having somewhere to put my coffee. My coffee tends to sit in the bags I purchase them in until I need to use the coffee! I also don't tend to buy as much coffee to need a canister, but I couldn't wait to try this stars and stripes canister made by Coffee Gator. First of all, while this says stars and stripes, it immediately reminded me of Captain America. So this is officially my unofficial Captain America Coffee Canister.  I immediately started out by putting my coffee beans in this! I was hoping that it would bring about a fresher taste and more longlasting quality to the beans. It's still hard to say how it does with keeping beans long-lasting fresh but I do appreciate that I have this. Also, I love that this comes with a little scoop for the coffee beans, I think that's one of my favorite parts. It also has a way for you to keep track of how long your coffee beans have been in this canister. Overall, I think this is perfect for

Type: A. Deodorant - My New, Natural Favorite

Image
It feels a bit embarrassing to share, but I discovered this summer an unrelenting body odor problem. I also was experience a persistent amount of sweating. I kept having to switch deodorants! So, when I had the chance to try out this new kind of deodorant, I couldn't wait to try it out. It's called type: A.  The style of the deodorant wasn't like what I usually see (like the roller kind). It kind of reminded me of a bottle of lotion, but when you open up the bottle, you can see it provides a way for the deodorant itself to go on your skin in a controlled manner (rather than like gushing out like lotion). What I was hoping was for this deodorant to solve my excessive sweating problem. After trying it out for a couple of weeks, I did see that it made a difference. While it didn't take away the problem completely, it did far better for me than most deodorants I was trying. It also didn't make me smell as bad anymore! I especially loved that this is a natural pr

5 Reasons I Still Use Instacart (And You Should Too!)

Image
**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links. As you can see from my post last October about Instacart , I'm a huge fan of the grocery delivery service! And almost one year later, I'm still a huge fan. If you are on the fence about Instacart, I have for you five reasons I use the service over and above most other delivery services, such as Amazon Prime Now. 1) Chatting with my shopper. One of the biggest reasons I use this service is I can chat with my shopper WHILE they shop. This is huge and one of the biggest reasons I am staying with Instacart. Why is this a big deal? Well here's three reasons why I love this feature - 1) If I forget to add something to my order, I can message the shopper while they are shopping to get it for me. 2) If they can't find an item on my list, and I'm not a fan of the replacement item they find, I can message them asking about other options. 3) I

My New Favorite Thing - Cauliflower Pizza Crusts (and the Brand You Should Try)

Image
This is my affiliate link so will receive small compensation if you purchase through my link. I think the hardest thing for me since going gluten-free is finding the right kind of pizza crust. So many include things like "guar gum" or "xanthum gum" and I'm actively trying to exclude those things from my diet. And then one day, I just decided to Google "Cauliflower Pizza Crusts" and lookie what I found: Don't these look amazing? Okay, so one huge jump out factor for these is that they include some pretty simple ingredients. For the Original Italian, they have cauliflower, mozzarella, eggs, basil, and garlic. How simple can you get? This is the first time a pizza crust has kept it simple and I'm so happy about this. https://www.califlourfoods.com/pages/nutrition-facts So here's my experience attempting to make it into a pizza. I tried this in the oven but I found this worked best for me, when I cooked it on the st
