5 Ways to Make Extra Money on the Side

Sponsored.

I am constantly looking for new ways to make extra cash. Some of these ways I've told you guys about, but others I've learned about recently that I thought I would share. If you are looking to expand on your "side hustles" than this post will include a few things you maybe haven't heard of that you ought to give a try.

1) Evaluate products and stores in exchange for cash.

I recently learned about a company called INTERNATIONAL SERVICE CHECK. You sign up online as an Evaluator and they pay you to do a short visit to a store in your area and give feedback about the experience. They have tons of assignments all over the U.S. and Canada—even in remote and rural areas.  What I like best about this is that you basically accept assignments that you want to do and that you are interested in--consumer tech products, watches, handbags, clothing, luxury goods, restaurants and more.

This is a perfect opportunity for college students, moms, dads or anyone looking to make some extra cash. It's completely flexible to your schedule, too (another huge bonus to me!). One additional perk is that while the company is strong internationally, you deal directly with managers in NYC, Atlanta and Toronto.  When you sign up, these managers email you a list of stores in your area to choose from.

So, if this sounds like something you want to do, sign up at www.internationalservicecheck.com -- scroll to the bottom of the page to “Want to Become an Evaluator- Find Out More.”

2) Drop

I've actually talked about this one before! This is a new way to earn money back on your purchases. You link up your bank account and when you sign up you list out the five businesses you purchase the most with (they have things like Whole Foods, or Safeway, or other things like that; so if there's a few places you commonly shop, look for them to be the ones you have as ongoing offers. Like for Lyft, you get 10 points per dollar spent.  With Safeway, you get 8 points per dollar. When it adds up to at least 5,000 points, that's when you can start redeeming points for gift cards. They have Starbucks gift cards, Amazon gift cards, and a few others. While this isn't actual cash in your bank account, these types of things can add up fast and help you save money on your shopping trips. Find out more here.

3) Ibotta

This is also another one I've talked about and I highly recommend if you ever shop at a grocery store or shop online. They partner up with so many different businesses and it is easy to see your cash back add up. Probably the one thing I forget to do when shopping online is to go through Ibotta first and then sync up. What makes this stand out above most cash back apps is that you can get cash back on groceries you buy, including liquor. They also offer bonuses too if you purchase a certain or a certain type of product. The cash back adds up quickly too and you can get gift cards or money back through PayPal too. Find out more here.

4) Upwork.com

Upwork is definitely a great place if you are open to doing freelance work. It isn't just for writers either! If you data entry, graphic design, admin work, virtual assisting, you name it, I've seen it listed as an opportunity. This is an excellent way of getting extra money in. I'd say if you are new at this and not getting much luck, have patience and keep at it. Sign up here at Upwork.com.

5) Car Brain

If you've never thought your car was worthy of selling, it's time to reconsider! You can check out the salvage value of your car and see how much you can get for it. Just visit to find the salvage value of your car.

These are only just a few ways you can make extra cash and I hope this gets you started on the right path!
